28 July: UK - Beijing

Journey begins as we depart on our scheduled flight to Beijing.

29 July: Beijing

Arrival in Beijing. Chauffeur to our hotel and settle in. Enjoy a welcome dinner tonight.

30 July: Beijing

Our day begins with the sacred Temple of Heaven, a place of solitude, contemplation and where once the emperor's spoke in hushed whispers to the gods in heaven to pray for good harvests. Wander amongst the imperial splendour of the Forbidden City before moving onto the Tiananmen Square - the largest public square in the world. Each child will be given a kite painted in Chinese pattern such as dragon, butterfly or phoenix to fly with other children on the Square.

31 July: Beijing

Today we take cable car up to the Great Wall of China. We will visit the quieter Mutianyu Section to avoid the crowds at other sections. Those who are more energetic can further walk up to the top of the mountain with unforgettable views.
Back to the city, we stop by a Cloisonne Workshop to admire this unique & sophisticated art form that originated in Beijing in the 13th century.

1 August: Beijing - Xian

Be impressed by the beautifully landscaped Summer Palace, an extensive assembly of temples, pavilions and halls. Cruise on a Dragon-shaped boat on the vast Kunming lake. After lunch in a local restaurant, there will be options to drop off on the Shijiahai lakeside lined with traditional courtyard houses converted-into restaurants, cafes & pubs or visit a local orphanage school and give out presents to the children.

In late afternoon we take an overnight train to Xian, the ancient capital of China.

2 August: Xian

As our train pulls into the ancient capital, watch out the massive Ancient City Walls surrounding the city center. After a quick bit of breakfast journey out to the UNSECO World Heritage Sites of the Terracotta Warriors. Here you will have plenty of time to personally inspect the eternal guard of the First Emperor. We will also visit a local warrior figurine workshop to view
the production of these life-size Warrior figurines. In the afternoon move onto the Big Wild Goose Pagoda with its reverberating chant of Buddhist mantra.

3 August: Xian

After a leisurely buffet breakfast in hotel, visit the South Gate and Ancient City Walls (optional cycling or electric buggy ride).
Depart for flight to Chengdu, settle in at our hotel.

4 August: Chengdu

Today is a day of anticipation. We begins with a visit to the Chengdu Panda Sanctuary - the World's leading panda research centre - to discover and learn all about this endangered species, which are only a few centimetres long when born and get up close to watch them at play.
Embark on an excursion to Leshan Grand Buddha - the world's largest of its kind having been fashioned out of a sheer cliff face and sitting at an impressive 233ft high. This stunning example of a Buddha carved on a truly gigantic scale required tremendous dedication and took almost a century to complete.
This evening we fly to the beauty southern region, settle in at our hotel in Guilin.

5 August: Longsheng

Today we head north to Longsheng, home to a mixture of minority people that have retained their way of life and vibrantly colourful embroidered costumes throughout the centuries. After a journey through rich fertile countryside and a steady walk we will be served lunch in a minority family restaurant, nestling high up within the quilted patchwork of rice terraces called the "Dragon's Backbone".

6-7 August: Yangshuo

We spend two days leisure time in the sleepy town of Yangshuo. There are various activities to suit each member of your family. Your tour manager will assist and help making necessary arrangement.

Recommended choices are:
- Cruise on the Li River
- Bicycle or motorised buggy ride deep into the countryside to explore the paddy fields, rivers;
- Hike along the countryside trails to see farmers in their fields and roaming water buffalo in action;
- Sampan ride on remote sections of the Yulong River and explore the caves & the mysterious Moon Hill;
- 1 day cooking class in a renovated farm house;
- Cormonant Fishing trip
- and dont forget the impressive "Sound & Light Liu Sanje Show"!
Or perhaps lazing around in one of the cafes on the West Street and watch locals pass by?

8 August: Yangshuo - Hong Kong

After enjoying breakfast, transfer for flight to Shenzhen. Upon arrival, cross the border into our hotel in downtown of Hong Kong. Rest of the free day at leisure.

9 August: Hong Kong

Today we've included a half day coach tour taking in the major sights of this exciting city, such as a vintage tram ride up to the Peak, Aberdeen Fishing Village, Repulse Bay and Stanley Market.

10 August: Hong Kong

Further day at leisure in Hong Kong.

11 August: Hong Kong - UK

Check out of hotel. Grab a taxi or shuttle bus to the airport for your return flight home. Depending on flight times, you may arrive home later in the afternoon or the morning of 12 August. Bon voyage!

14 August: Hong Kong - UK Take your own taxi to the airport for return flight home. End of itinerary.
