Day 1: UK - Beijing
Our journey begins as we board our overnight scheduled flight to Beijing.(* For those who may experience jet lag, we recommend adding a pre-tour night in Beijing for a refreshing start of your holiday.)
Day 2: Beijing
Morning arrival into Beijing where you will be greeted by your Oriental Travel Tour Manager and chauffeured to your deluxe class hotel. Take time to settle in. Later in the afternoon, we visit the sacred Temple of Heaven before enjoying a warm welcome dinner in our most favourite courtyard restaurant in town.Accommodation (deluxe class): 5* Oriental Bay Hotel
Day 3: Beijing
Our days begins with a walk through Tiananmen Square, the largest public square in the world, before retracing the steps of the great emperors of China and wander amongst the imperial splendour of the Forbidden City.Move onto the majestic Summer Palace, set in beautiful surroundings atop Longevity Hill. We then pass by 2008 Beijing Olympic Stadiums en-route to our restaurant for a delicious Peking duck banquet dinner.
Day 4: Beijing
An exciting day awaits you as we head to the Great Wall (Mutianyu Section) - a much quieter and picturesque section of the Great Wall. Here you will have plenty of time to climb up to the top of this magnificent structure. Unforgettable views, a glass of bubbly and when the weather is good, a lovely picnic lunch will go to make this a day to remember!On our return to the city, we stop by a Cloisonne Workshop to view this unique artwork originated in the 13th century.
Oriental's Style:
We visit the Mutianyu Section of the Great Wall, avoiding the tourist traps at the Badaling section. When the weather is good, we will enjoy a lovely picnic lunch with sparkling wines on an ancient watch tower.
Day 5: Beijing - Yichang
Morning flight to Yichang where we embark our 4 nights cruising journey on the mighty Yangtze River.Oriental's Style:
Our guests will stay in well appointed cabins with private balcony, allowing you some uninterrupted privacy to enjoy the marvellous scenery.
Day 6-8: Three Gorges & Yangtze River Cruising
Experience the joy of waking up each morning to an endless procession of magnificent views slowly unfolding before you. The next three days you will sail through the famed Three Gorges - Qutang, Wu Xia and Xiling. Highlights include a sampan ride through the Lesser Gorges and shore excursion to the Three Gorges Dam.Accommodation (deluxe class): 5* Victoria Cruises (private balcony cabin)
Day 9: Chongqing - Xian
Morning disembark our cruise in Chongqing. There will be an excursion to Chongqing Panda Centre to watch the cute giant pandas at play before catching our flight to Xian. Take a relaxing walk on the Ancient City Walls & South Gate, before concluding the day with a sumptuous buffet dinner in our deluxe class hotel.Accommodation (deluxe class): 5* Howard Johnson Ginwa Plaza
Day 10: Xian
Once the largest city in the world, Xian is a treasure trove of China's former glory. Our first visit is to the UNESCO heritage listed Terracotta Warriors - site of the eternal guard of China's First Emperor. Also stop at a workshop to view the production of Terracotta figurines by local craftsmen and perhaps purchase a 6 ft replica warrior for you garden or home!After lunch and a chance to sample local specialty of "hand-pulled noodles", continue onto the beautifully preserved Big Wild Goose Pagoda.
Day 11: Xian
Our morning begins with a discovery tour of the Tombs of Emperor Han Yangling which showcases the style in which the West Han Dynasty decorated their tombs in preparation for the afterlife. Time permitting we stop by the Drum Tower, before our afternoon flight to Guilin. Upon arrival chauffeur to our hotel in Yangshuo.Accommodation (deluxe class): 5* Green Lotus Hotel

Extensive development over the past decade has robbed Guilin of its natural beauty. Beacause of negative client feedback we have decided to introduce the more beautiful countryside of Yangshuo.
Day 12: Yangshuo
Today we set off to explore Yangshuo's tranquil countryside, water caves and rivers. We take a leisurley cycle along the flat back-road through farmland. Next we visit the Silver Water Caves followed by bamboo rafting along the river. From your raft you can really appreciate the towering karst limestone spires that seem to emerge at random in every direction from the almost perfectly flat plains.(* For those who do not wish to cycle we will arrange motorised buggy ride to explore the farmland)
Day 13: Yangshuo
Today is free for you to explore the stunning surroundings of Yangshuo as you choose. Our hotel is perfectly located by the bustling West Street with its diversity of restaurants, cafes, bars and souvenir shops at the doorsteps. Your tour manager will be on hand to offer assistance and help plan activities.Suggested Activities:
- Hiking to nearby farmlands & local villages
- Excursion to Longsheng
- Kayaking or swimming in the Yulong River
- Chinese cooking class
- Cormorant Fishing
- Evening Impressions Show
Day 14: Hong Kong
Morning flight to Shenzhen. We cross the border by coach (approx. 2 hours) to the city center of Hong Kong and check into our hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.Accommodation (superior class): 4* Park Hotel or 4* Empire Hotel or same class
Day 15: Hong Kong
Today we will provide you a day pass of the open-top bus tour stopping at various spots in the city. You can "hop on & off" at your own pace. The pass includes ferry ticket for crossing the famous Victoria Harbour and return tickets for the tram ride to The Peak for a bird's evey view of the famous city skyline.Day 16: Hong Kong
Take the airport shuttle bus or taxi to the airport for your return flight home.Optional Hong Kong Extension:

Sanya Beach Extension 3 Nights
The South Sea Island with its wonderful tropical climate is the perfect place to relax, unwind and reflect on all your amazing Chinese adventures. Relax with a good book and a refreshing cocktail on the fine beaches, or for those a little more energetic, there is a fantastic array of water sports and excursions to the heart of the island offering some outstanding places of natural beauty.
Day 13 - Yangshuo to Sanya Day free at leisure in Yangshuo. Transfer to airport for early evening flight to Sanya. On arrival transfer to your hotel where you spend three nights.
Day 14,15 - Sanya Days free at leisure. Enjoy the warm sunshine and fine sand beaches.
Day 16 - Hong Kong Mid-day check out of hotel. Take a taxi to the airport for your flight to Hong Kong. On arrival take taxi or airport shuttle bus to the hotel. Rest of the day is free in Hong Kong.
Day 17 - Hong Kong Continue your itinerary in Hong Kong.
Day 18 - Hong Kong to UK Return flight to UK.
