The Fairyland of Nine Village Valleys (Jiuzhaigou)
Jiuzhaigou offers spectacular landscape and a native beauty that is unique in both China and in the world. Stretching over the northern part of Sichuan as a jagged alpine valley, the scenic area occupies over 240 sq miles (620 sq kilometers), with over a hundred colourful lakes connected by bouncing streams & roaring waterfalls, and lush forest surrounded by snow-capped peaks.
Day 1: Jiuzhaigou
Fly to Jiuzhaigou from the end of our tours. Our driver will pick you up from the airport and transfer to your hotel in the valley area (approx. 2 hours from airport). Take the time to settle in.
Day 2: Jiuzhaigou (B)
This morning you take a short taxi ride (around 20mins) to the Jiuzhaigou Park Valley where you will embark on a self guided hiking and explore the valley at your own pace.
Day 3: Jiuzhaigou (B)
Further day free for you to conduct self guided walk in the valley. Signs and map directions are written in English with clear marking trail making it easy for you to explore the area at your own pace.
Day 4: Huanglong - Chengdu / Other Destinations (B)
This morning our driver will pick you up at hotel. Drive (approx. 3 hours) to Huanglong and spend a half day exploring the area.
Due to thousands of years of geological evolution, Huanglong consists of numerous unique landscapes of geological landforms. Glacial revolution, terrane structure, stratum of carbonic acid rock, tufa water and climatic conditions such as artic-alpine sun light have created this world-famous travertine landscape.
Later in the afternoon transfer to the airport for your onward flight to Chengdu or other destinations.
* You can extend additional night stay in Jiuzhaigou. We recommended 1-2 nights extension in Chengdu to visit the Panda Sanctuary & Leshan Grand Buddha.
