Best of China 10 Days

Day 1: Beijing
Arrival Beijing airport. Greeted by your personal driver and chauffeur to hotel.

Day 2: Beijing (B,L,D)
Morning visit Temple of Heaven. After lunch continue onto Tiananmen Square and Forbidden City. There is an option to climb up to the hill of imperial Jingshan Park for a bird's eye view over the golden rooftop of the Forbidden City.
This evening, a sumptuous Peking Duck Banquet will be arranged in a lively courtyard restaurant. (or a fusion vegetarian restaurant for vegetarian guests)

Day 3: Beijing (B,L)
Journey out to the Great Wall at Mutianyu Section (less touristy & quieter section). Afternoon on the way back, stop by a Jade Carving Workshop. Evening at leisure or optional Martial Arts performance.

Day 4: Beijing - Xian (B,L,D)
After a relaxed breakfast, visit Summer Palace and a boat ride on the Kunming Lake. On the way to airport, drive past the 2008 Beijing Olympic Stadium for some snapshots. Afternoon fly to Xian where you stay for 2 nights. This evening enjoy a Dumpling Banquet in our hand-picked restaurant.

Day 5: Xian (B,L)
Your morning starts with a leisure walk along the Ancient City Walls and its South Gate. Continue onto the UNSECO World Heritage Sites of Terracotta Warriors. Lunch will be of a local speciality "hand-pulled noodles". View the production of Terracotta figurines in a local workshop.

Day 6: Xian - Guilin (Yangshuo) (B,L)
Morning depart on a short flight to Guilin. Chauffeur to your countryside hotel in Yangshuo and settle in. After lunch in yet our another hand-picked restaurant with local delicacies, enjoy a water journey on private chartered boat along a quiet section of Li River. This evening there is an orientation tour of Yangshuo's West Street.

Day 7: Yangshuo (B)
Today we set off to explore Yangshuo's charming countryside.
Morning begins with a cycling ride along the flatback road of farmlands meeting barefoot farmers (or leisure walk for those who do not wish to cycle). Next, explore the Silver Water Caves.
The rest of the day will be left at leisure so that you can pick your own activities as you prefer. There are choices of Kung Fu/cooking/painting lesson; a climb up Moon Hill; watch cormorant fishing performance; the Impression West Lake Show; traditional massage; or simply relax at the rooftop garden of your hotel with a good book?

Day 8: Yangshuo - Shanghai (B,L)
Depart for a late morning flight to Shanghai. After freshen up in your hotel, embark on a city orientation tour pointing out highlights such as The Bund, Yuyuan Garden & Bazaar, and the Old Pier. In the evening there is an optional Shanghai Acrobatics Show.

Day 9: Shanghai (B)
Day free at leisure in Shanghai.

Day 10: Shanghai (B)
After breakfast chauffeur to the airport for your connecting flight home or onward destination.

- 1 night extension stay in Yangshuo to soak up the beautiful scenery, add £35/person
